Presenting these devices, Microsoft hopes to change the way people work in teams and meeting habits become more modern and productive. Microsoft Surface Regional Director Asia Pacific Jacqui Miranda said, the past meeting activity is very different from now.

"If you had a meeting requires everyone to meet in person in a room, now is not the case. Many companies are accustomed to using a conference call. There are four things that the achievement of the target Microsoft on this one product. Digital Whiteboard

Although referred to as a PC, there is no lock screen button or passwords on Surface Hub. Only a series of onscreen button to start conversations Skype for Business, open a whiteboard application or connected with a mobile phone or computer.



As demonstrated by the Technical Architect for the Microsoft Technology Center Singapore Hau Lu, you only have to pull 'pen' or stylus placed on the Surface Hub, and whiteboard will automatically open when the stylus is touched on the screen.

"Application whiteboard created synergy with OneNote, designed to enable up to three people at a time to write on the screen. And if you do the meeting remotely, meeting participants who are far away can also write in OneNote via their PC, if they have a stylus, and the results are seen in one screen together, "Lu said at length.

Surface Hub experience of writing on such writing using a real pen. When the pen is pressed, lines or streaks generated will be thick and firm.


Interestingly, this pen can also be marked as your pen, so Surface Hub know who wrote what. This can help ensure anyone who participated in a meeting.

Modern meeting

When starting the meeting, we will see something called 'Stage'. Meeting participants from a distance will be in the bottom row of the display. We will see a thumbnail view of our own camera. The camera on the left side and kana will switch automatically detects who is actively talking. Speakers are also located in the same place, near the camera.

In the middle is a whiteboard that has been discussed previously. We can move any application to the whiteboard as required. When connecting the phone or PC, we also can project presentation to the Surface screen Hub.

Surface Hub is designed to be used many people simultaneously. The screen can detect the ten fingers of ten different people at once. Zoom in and zoom out was running smoothly on this device.



Pricing and Availability

Microsoft originally planned to ship the Surface Hub in early September, but was postponed until January 2016. However, Microsoft remains open process of pre-orders for the two models of Surface Hub. 55 inch variant priced at USD 6,999 and for the largest size, 84 inches, sold for USD 19,999.

Surface Hub will visit 24 countries, but Indonesia has not been included in it. Miranda said Microsoft would consider expanding tablet market giant, but for now there are no plans to present it to Indonesia
